Over the next two years, Princeton Public Schools will continue to use $26.9 million in referendum funds to implement health and safety upgrades to our schools. Here are some of the planned improvements at Riverside School. These plans will be reviewed by the Board of Education and may be changed, as necessary, as bids for construction are received.
Doors: Riverside will have 50 doors and locks replaced starting in the spring of 2020 to improve security. Most of the work will be done over school breaks and in the evenings. Improved hardware will be installed in these doors and others.
Security Vestibule: Riverside will have a new entrance/vestibule for enhanced safety and security. The work will be done in summer of 2020.
Air Conditioning: Riverside received 28 new air conditioning units in the summer of 2019. The Board is discussing installing a central control system for the Riverside HVAC.
Electrical Work: Electrical upgrades were completed in the summer of 2019, including the new switchgear. The Riverside transformer was sufficient to support the this past summers HVAC work, and did not have to replaced.
