PPS has been working with the Center for Applied Linguistics on a program review of the Dual Language Immersion program at Community Park and Princeton Middle School.

Thank you to the many parents and students who have participated in focus groups this week. The Dual Language Immersion program has been in existence for seven year and provides students with the opportunity to learn daily in two languages, Spanish and English.

More than 60 parents have participated in focus groups. In addition, there have been two focus groups with students at Community Park, as well as two focus groups with students at the Princeton Middle School.

"With all instructional programs, we do periodic external reviews," said Dr. Kathie Foster, Interim Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. The program review centers on how to improve and strengthen what is already a strong program, she added.

The Center for Applied Linguistics is in the last phase of the evaluation process and anticipates that the formal report will be available in June. The report will be presented to the Student Achievement Committee and then to the Princeton Board of Education.
