John McMichael, Supervisor of School Counseling and Student Wellness
John McMichael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Villanova University and a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. He began his career in education as a school counselor at Cherokee High School (Marlton, NJ) in 2004. In addition to all the responsibilities of a counselor, Mr. McMichael also coached track and field in the winter and spring for many years. He was the Testing Coordinator for the school (of well over 2,000 students) from 2008 until he left in 2022. During his tenure, he was an advisor of multiple clubs, and he served on numerous committees.
Mr. McMichael completed a Master of Education degree in School Leadership from Wilmington University. He became the Assistant Principal of School Counseling at Audubon High School in January of 2022. He transitioned into his current position as Supervisor of School Counseling and Student Wellness for the Princeton Public School District in August of 2023. It has been his passion and his life’s work to help students and families to the best of his ability. With that still at his core, he now focuses his work on guiding and supporting the entire school counseling department (K-12) as they directly serve students, families, and staff.
Mr. McMichael is a husband and father to two wonderful children. They enjoy spending time at the beach and taking vacations to Walt Disney World. Mr. McMichael is an avid runner, having completed nine marathons, including the Boston Marathon. He is a fan of track and field and enjoys watching movies and listening to podcasts and audiobooks.
