Financial Literacy Application

Application due June 15th, 2022

Economics, Personal Finance, and Economics & Financial Literacy


1. Only available as a summer option

2. Student/Parent pays for the course - $250 (please let your counselor know if you need financial assistance)

3. All courses begin after school ends and must be completed by August 15th, 2022. 

4. Course and Grade are included on transcript and are part of the student’s GPA.

5. See your school counselor if you are interested

6. Make sure you do not have summer commitments that may get in the way of completion (work, vacation, camps, etc.)

7. Students can drop this course before August 15th without any impact or record on their transcript.  No refunds for any cancellations.


PHS Summer Chemistry Bridge Program Application

Join the Princeton High School Science Department Summer Bridge Program   Who: Rising PHS 10th graders (current 9th graders) enrolled in Chemistry 1 for the 2022-2023 school year.  Applicants should be looking for an opportunity to immerse themselves in scientific exploration while strengthening data collection and analysis skills that will be applied throughout the chemistry curriculum. ***Please note that students who have placed into Accelerated Chemistry are not eligible to apply for this program.   What: Students will engage in a variety of experiences including team and culture building, as well as academic enrichment and scientific exploration.  Our program will focus on environmental chemistry. Through the lens of climate change, we will explore aspects of our local air, soil and water quality. We will discuss ways to combat climate change using alternative fuels, such as biofuels and hydrogen fuel cells. Students will have the opportunity to learn real world data collection techniques, and to apply the techniques they learn in developing their own experiment. The program will conclude with an opportunity to share their results with the students’ friends, family, and PHS community  The goal of this program is to expose students to big data science and engineering design thinking, and to prepare the students for the more rigorous quantitative, data-driven aspects of the chemistry curriculum.   When: Mondays June 27th – Friday, July 8th 1. Most days will be 8:30-11:30 am, with the last two days spanning a full day (8:30-3:00 pm) 2. Lunch will be provided for the two full days.   Where: Princeton High School  Why: Students who engage in a bridge experience before chemistry have greater transitional success, both academically as well as social-emotionally.  This early exposure to the chemistry curriculum builds the skills and confidence necessary to be successful in the course.    How: Fill out this application and submit it by the end of April.   Students will be selected for the program based on the following criteria:  

1. Teacher Recommendation 2. Biology Mid-year score for SY 2021-2022 3. Math mid-year score for SY 2021-2022 4. Student-generated responses to application questions
