It’s a busy time at Princeton High School with AP exams in full swing, seniors ordering caps and gowns, and fields full of lacrosse and field hockey teams.
Meanwhile, behind temporary walls, there is a parallel universe where entire portions of the building are being transformed. The guidance department—once a warren of small offices and narrow hallways—is undergoing its first full renovation in more than two decades. The former weight room now has a second level. A Grab & Go dining outpost is being built where the school store was once located. And construction teams are busy putting up steel for a second-story addition that will include new classrooms and new collaborative spaces.
The first phase of the project, which includes the guidance offices, is anticipated to be complete by September. Counselors who are currently working in the Fagles Room will move back into the newly renovated space near the main office for school year 2021-2022.
Here are a few behind-the-scenes photos of the work in progress.
