It’s been a terrific year for summer programs at Princeton High School. Programs include the English Language Camp for students who are in the process of learning English.
“We have been thrilled with the enthusiasm and large turnout this summer,” said Dr. Andrea Dinan who has been involved with the English Language Learners (ELL) program for the last ten years and runs the PHS Ideas Center during the school year.
The 20 students who participate meet daily to play get-to-know-you games, practice their English, and work on maintaining skills learned during the school year. In addition to the two PHS teachers, Dr. Dinan and Christine Carbone, who run the program, the group has had support from PHS student volunteers as well as students from the Princeton Human Resources summer youth employment program.
A special bonus this year for native Spanish-speakers has been support from teachers in Mérida, Mexico who have Zoomed in to work with students on English grammar lessons.
