“Cool” Blooded Club

CLUB TYPE: Awareness or World Interest Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The “Cool” Blooded Club explores, and spreads awareness about the native reptiles and amphibians of New Jersey and the husbandry of captive reptiles and amphibians. The club members will have the opportunity to interact with the animals and share up close encounters to learn about their kind demeanors and have a better sense of understanding about these often misunderstood creatures!

Active Minds at PHS

CLUB TYPE: Awareness or World Interest Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Active Minds at PHS is a student chapter of Active Minds, a nonprofit mental health awareness group which works to educate peers, raise awareness, and promote positive mental health amongst high school and college students. We work to reduce the stigma surrounding these very important issues and raise funds for mental health education to benefit our peers and community.

Analog Photography

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Our mission is to introduce students to analog photographic processes or to foster a love for an already established interest in traditional photographic techniques.

Animal Rights Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The Animal Rights Club is a club aimed to spread awareness about the suffering of animals as well as take initiative in our local community. In the club, we will have discussions, do fundraisers, and possibly visit local organizations involved with animal rights.

Asian American Club

Astrophysics Club

CLUB TYPE: Academic Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The goal for this club will be to teach students of the Princeton community more about astrophysics so that they can apply it to real-world applications and perhaps research more about astronomy. In order to do so, students will be competing, conducting experiments, and will be taught by club leaders to further expand their knowledge about astronomy.

Bollywood Club: Community Through Dance

CLUB TYPE: Arts, Music, Performance or Culinary Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Through this club, high school students will have an opportunity to connect with each other through the medium of dance. This club is meant to be a fun escape from everyday work, an intercultural experience, and a fitness workout. It will be low-commitment, however, those who want to perform at certain events will have to meet more regularly. No experience is required and I will teach a few fun Bollywood steps in a session that will last around 45-60 minutes.

Bridge Club

CLUB TYPE: Sports and Recreation Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Bridge Club provides a space for students to practice the popular card game bridge. In bridge, you and a partner compete with another team using a standard 52 card deck. Bridge is easy to play but hard to master, making it possible for players of all skill levels to have fun. No prior experience is required to participate.

CARE: Culture and Racial Equality

CLUB TYPE: Awareness or World Interest Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The purpose of C.A.R.E(Culture And Racial Equality) is to create a welcoming and safe environment where students can connect by sharing stories or opinions on racial issues and embrace different cultures. Everyone that is a part of this club will be able to express their feelings and thoughts openly and listen to other members respectfully. In this club, we will constantly encourage equality and unity in our school, our community, and society as a whole.

ABOUT THIS CLUB: “Chapter Chat” aims to provide students with a friendly and open atmosphere in which they can read and discuss works chosen by the students. Chinese Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The mission of our club is to spread Chinese traditional culture and introduce Chinese culture to more Princeton High School students. In the meetings we will demonstrate modern Chinese pop culture in combination with traditional Chinese culture to the students, and in events such as Asian Fest and the Chinese New year celebration, the Chinese club will be hosting these events and organize performance on these events

Cloud Computing Club

CLUB TYPE: Academic Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Cloud Computing Club aka C3 is a computer science club that teaches members how to create websites, manage data, and share apps globally, all in the cloud. By the end of the year, students will be able to host and manage their own web applications, run virtual computers, and even build a skill for Amazon Echo!

Computer Hardware Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Computer Hardware Club is an academic team with the primary goal of imparting pc-building knowledge. We hope to assembly people with similar interests to discuss objective topics and work on team projects.

Computer Robotics Club

CLUB TYPE: Academic Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: PHSCRC is a club that focuses on all aspects of robotics and computing. We design, build, and program robots that participate in multiple competitions. To do this we teach many skills from CAD to 3D Printing and laser cutting to electronics design and manufacturing. Additionally, we provide awareness for and participate in many CS competitions, everything from hackathons to CTF's (cybersecurity competitions). Finally, PHSCRC fundraises and organizes hackPHS, the school hackathon.

Conspiracy Theory Club

CLUB TYPE: Awareness or World Interest Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Our mission is to enlighten the youths of Princeton High School about the hidden truths about the world and to conduct intellectual discussions about various theories. Are the theories facts? Why are conspiracy theories so intriguing? How did some of the more ridiculous theories come to be? In this club, we attempt to answer questions such as these among others. We meet every other Thursday during break in Room 152, so please join us.

Current Events Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The Princeton High School Current Events Club is intended to provide an inclusive (bipartisan) environment for students to be able to discuss current events. This club is vital in the current political atmosphere because there is a large partisan division. This club encourages and emphasizes constructive conversations between those with differing opinions.

Debate Fiction!

CLUB TYPE: Arts, Music, Performance or Culinary Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: Our club, Debate Fiction!, will host debates about popular ideas in movies, books, and TV shows. Members can meet others who have similar interests and become more comfortable with public speaking through discussing questions like: “Which Marvel character is the most underrated?”. It is a judgment free zone where each person can talk about the stories they enjoy, make new friends, and gain more confidence.

ECHO

ABOUT THIS CLUB: ECHO stands for Ending Childhood Hunger Organization. ECHO raises money and awareness for childhood hunger both all over the world and locally. We have bake sales in school to raise awareness, and we work with Homefront in New Jersey to help those locally.

EducatorsRISING

CLUB TYPE: Community or Social Service Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: EducatorsRISING is a collaborative student-teaching initiative between JWMS teachers and PHS students who aspire to be future teachers. Members will be matched with a teacher and go over to JW 2 or 3 times a month during their ‘free’ period. Members will also have access to the EdRising Virtual Campus, an online community that offers resources to support the development of future teachers.

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The PHS French club serves to immerse members (of any degree of proficiency!) in a fun and inviting Francophone environment. International Youth Neuroscience Association at PHS (PHS IYNA Club)

CLUB TYPE: Academic Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: This club is a chapter of the International Youth Neuroscience Association (IYNA), a global, youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to inspiring the next generation of neuroscientists. We conduct IYNA-guided neuroscience lessons, do community outreach programs, and submit articles to be published the IYNA's bimonthly journal. We represented the IYNA at the Princeton University Women in STEM Conference, teaching girls how to build model neurons, and were featured in several newspapers and the PU and PPPL websites.

CLUB TYPE: Academic Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: iPLC runs a website that puts together teacher specific and subject specific study guides to ease the overall stress of the student body. To manage the website we are involved in many fields such as graphic design, taking notes, editing writing, and coding. Japanese Club

CLUB TYPE: Awareness or World Interest Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The club’s mission is to allow more students to learn and appreciate Japanese and East Asian Cultures. Throughout the year, we will make traditional foods of Japan like Taiyaki and Takoyaki. We will show clips of Japanese histories, learning about their tea traditions, clothings, religions, etc. Just like past years, we will be apart of the annual Asian Festival to learn about other Asian countries at the same time teaching the Japanese cultures to others.

KEY -- Keep Expressing Yourself

CLUB TYPE: Arts, Music, Performance or Culinary Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: With KEY, our aim is to raise money for charity through musical performance. We seek to achieve this by organizing concerts showcasing a wide range of musical talents from students at PHS. Money will be raised through a small concert fee from audience members and all proceeds will be directly donated. Through this club, we hope to give all musicians at PHS a chance to perform while raising money and awareness for the less fortunate.

March For Our Lives PHS

ABOUT THIS CLUB: We are a branch of the bigger March For Our Lives organization that advocates for common sense gun legislation, and we are hoping to become an official PHS club. Our mission is to educate about gun violence and legislation, advocate by hosting talks and contacting legislators, and take action by registering people to vote.

Numina Gallery

CLUB TYPE: Arts, Music, Performance or Culinary Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: The Numina Gallery is managed by a group of dedicated and creative students at Princeton High School who plan, sponsor, and curate artistic, historical, and academic exhibits. Numina - Latin for "sacred space"- is a student-run gallery serving PHS and the greater community.

Odyssey of the Mind

CLUB TYPE: Arts, Music, Performance or Culinary Club

ABOUT THIS CLUB: PHS Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition that combines engineering and the performing arts to create an eight-minute skit in response to a problem given. With five different problems, students can build anything from robots to vehicles to giant sets.
