Littlebrook's first and second grade students had a chance to experience a little canine love on Wednesday.
As part of the social-emotional educational program at Littlebrook, Ms. Walters, school counselor, arranged to have dogs from Attitudes in Reverse (AIR) visit with students. Students also heard a presentation about how dogs experience and show emotions.
The first and second graders, including students from Cohort C, had a chance to pet the highly trained and certified therapy dogs and learn about how dogs are good for mental health. Interacting with dogs lowers blood pressure, reduces stress, and increases overall feelings of wellness.
It was a fun event which took place outside under one of the big white tents. It was particularly nice to see Cohort C students. For some of these students, it was one of the first opportunity to see their teachers and classmates in person.
