October is a wonderful time in the Johnson Park Garden. Garden Educator Ms. Deborah Gries provided this update:
"Students are busy at JP sampling the last of our Sun Gold cherry tomatoes. Most students want to eat the tomatoes but even those who choose not to taste the tomatoes join in the investigation by breaking open the juicy fruits."
"In the sensory garden, a student discovered a Swallowtail caterpillar munching on the last of the parsley plant," she added. "Clean up time in the garden is upon us, but there's still plenty to eat in the garden! Cucamelons are still productive and a huge hit! Ground cherries flourish and our sweet potatoes are next on the harvesting list."
