Johnson Park News

Johnson Park would like to invite students, parents, and friends to an evening of fun and games tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, August 24 from 5:30 PM to 8 PM. The event will be held at Community Park (the park, not the school) and will include a variety of games, such as tug-of-war, relays, and water balloon toss. There will also be team games, sports skills and brain challenges. We hope you can attend! Bring your extended family and neighbors to watch, cheer, or play.

Johnson Park Family Fun Night

Please join us and our special guest from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tue., Aug. 24 (Rain date: Tue., Aug., 31st) at Community Park, for an evening of fun and games.  Let’s all return, reconnect, and remember how great it can be to experience the thrill and excitement of outdoor challenges, activities, and games with family, neighborhood friends, and our community. Join us for this FIT SCHOOL community event.  Let’s get together with old friends and make some new ones.  

Please arrive between 5:30 and 5:55. After a brief registration, we’ll put you and your party on a team.  We welcome all to participate—students, siblings, parents and staff. We’ll assign each team a Fit School leader to guide their participation.  Please wear comfy clothes and bring a water bottle and lawn chair or blanket.  Inquire about special-needs accommodations.

Party Games: Tug-of-War, Variety of relays, tag, obstacle course, belly bumpers, mine field, box game, water-balloon toss, sack races

Team Games: Kickball with modified rules, dodgeball, Steal-the-Bacon Deluxe – with Extra Cheese, Balls Across – The Ultimate Team Game

Challenges include speed, strength, balancing, fitness, endurance and teamwork challenges.

Sports Skills: Soccer, football throw, tennis volley, basketball shoot, volleyball bump, hockey slap, baseball/softball throw. 

Brain Strain: Strategies, twists, puzzles, memory, general knowledge.
