Registration

How to Register Your Child for School

To register your child in the Princeton Public School District, you will need to complete our online registration forms first.  If you do not have access to a computer, please visit the Princeton Public Library or call the Residency Office at 609-806-4200, ext. 2061, to access the online registration.

Families registering multiple children across the district schools should bring all residency evidence to the registration meeting for your youngest child. Please inform the registrar that you are enrolling children at additional schools so that your residency documents can be forwarded to the registrar at those schools.

After completing the online registration forms, you will need to sign the Eligibility for Registration Form, and bring proof of residency, your child's birth certificate or passport to verify birth date, and their medical and immunization records to your child's registration appointment. Your child will not be officially registered in our district until you have completed this step.

For questions about residency, please contact the Residency Office at 609-806-4200, ext. 2061.

What School Will My Child Attend?

Our four elementary schools are neighborhood-based, so where you live determines which school your child will attend. Please review our Residency Manual to see which elementary school your child will attend determined by your address.

Please notethat students enrolling in 1stgrade at Community Park School who do not wish to participate in the Dual Language Immersion program will be assigned to an alternate elementary school. Those families should, however, begin the registration process at Community Park.

If your student is in grades 6-8, your child will attend John Witherspoon Middle School.

Students in grades 9-12 will attend Princeton High School.

Proof of Residency

All students must be properly domiciled in Princeton to attend the Princeton Public Schools. Only full time residents of Princeton may enroll their child or children in the Princeton Public School District. Students who are not residents will be charged full tuition. Individuals who knowingly violate this state law may be referred to law enforcement officials to determine whether intentional fraud has occurred.

Please understand that “a student is domiciled in the school district when he or she is the child of a parent or guardian whose permanent home is located within the school district. A home is permanent when the parent or guardian intends to return to it when absent and has no present intent of moving from it, notwithstanding the existence of homes or residences elsewhere.” 6A:22-3.1 (a) 1.
