Health and Safety Precautions

We are committed to taking every measure possible to maintain social distancing, practice frequent and effective sanitizing, and enable a robust fresh air flow.

  • Desks will be spaced at least six feet apart when feasible.

  • Face masks will be required.

  • Classroom capacity will be limited to no greater than 50% capacity or 64 square feet per person, whichever is less. 

  • Buildings will not be open to visitors or available for  extracurricular activities. 

  • There will be physical barriers, such as plexiglass, in common areas.

  • Congregating in shared spaces, such as staff lounge areas, will be discouraged.

  • Equipment, supplies, and personal belongings will not be shared among students to the degree possible. 

  • Students, faculty, and staff will wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently throughout the day. 

  • The Department of Buildings and Grounds will clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces (playground equipment, door handles, sink handles, drinking fountains) within the school and on school buses at least daily, more frequently if possible. 

  • The Facilities Department will ensure that ventilation systems operate properly and increase circulation of outdoor air as much as possible. 

  • The District will provide adequate supplies, including soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, tissues, disinfectant wipes, and extra face coverings (as feasible).
