Going Back: The Basics

  • School begins remotely on September 14. We hope to transition to a hybrid model on October 12, if it can be done safely.

  • Your child will be assigned to a cohort—A, B, or C—and remain with that group throughout the semester. Members of the same family will belong to the same cohort. To see your child's cohort, log in to Power School; an A or B will appear with your his or her ID number. Cohort C will study remotely all year.

  • Requests for cohort changes will be considered but movement between cohorts must be kept to a minimum, for the safety of students and staff.

  • Your student will be assigned a computer or tablet, depending upon grade level, with all necessary software for remote learning installed. Plans regarding distribution are underway; we will keep you informed.

  • All assignments and communication will be available on Canvas, our cloud-based learning management system. Assistance is available via website and from the Help Desk at

  • Students will be masked when in school buildings; we will be vigilant about keeping buildings clean and safe through social distancing, frequent sanitizing, plexiglass partitions, reminder signage, hallway traffic control, and other measures.

  • PE will be conducted outdoors whenever possible, with an emphasis on activities that don't require sharing equipment; shared equipment will be sanitized after each use.

  • All in-person after school clubs have been suspended until January.

  • There will be no field trips during the fall semester.

  • Our plans may  need to be revised as circumstances change. We will notify you of any changes. Our website is a good source of the most current information.

  • This presentation summarizes what you can expect during the school year.
