Referendum 2025

Referendum Logo

“We are grateful that the voters supported the referendum in its entirety. The passage of the three referendum questions will allow us to address capacity issues at several of the schools, ensure the HVAC systems at PHS are functioning safely and efficiently, and plan for future student enrollment growth. The approval of the referendum is the culmination of a more than six-year process by the Board and administration to plan for rising enrollment and accommodate changes in teaching and learning. The addition of 23 classrooms and the expansion of common areas will ensure that the district has sufficient capacity to welcome all students for years to come.”  Dafna Kendal, Board of Education President

Project Updates

3/26/2025
In the weeks since January’s successful facilities bond referendum, work has begun to develop detailed plans that can provide the basis for successful construction of each project. Architects and engineers are pursuing the following steps:
  • Preliminary design overview meetings have been completed.
  • Building and site surveys are underway for each school in order to document conditions accurately.
  • Design meetings are underway to create detailed views of classrooms, science rooms, music rooms, and other areas included in the referendum.
  • Contextual studies are ongoing that will inform modeling of building facades, as well as preliminary selections of materials.
  • Preliminary investigations of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in each building are being undertaken to determine the best approaches to providing these services to areas that will be constructed.
  • All preliminary work is being evaluated against code requirements for fire safety, egress, and building construction to ensure it is fully responsive.
  • PHS gym bleachers are scheduled to be replaced this summer.
Stay tuned for more project updates and anticipated timelines for when projects will be completed.
