Much of the renovation at the middle school involved a space to the right of the front door known as the "old" library.
Middle School Construction
Before Construction
Prior to the renovation, there was an unused basement level courtyard that has now been filled in. This is a "before" photo.
Before the renovation, the lower level of the "old" library was below ground level and there were two doors leading out to an unused courtyard.

In 2013, the middle school renovated and created a new library and learning commons. The former library area, or the "old" library was used for meetings and special events.
At the middle school, the "old" library was on two levels. After the new construction, it all all one level and the new space includes three learning areas and collaborative spaces.
Before the renovation, there was a small security area near the front door of the middle school. This area, adjacent to the health office, was renovated as part of the referendum construction. The new room has enhanced security and a direct view of the middle school entrance.
Before the renovation, there was a photo copy station near the nurses' office.
After Construction
As part of the referendum improvements, new classroom space was created. This used to be part of the "old" library.
This area was part of the "old" middle school library. It is now part of three learning spaces which are all located on the same level and have new furniture designed for collaborative learning.
As part of the referendum renovation at the middle school, there are now improved private areas for students in the health office. In addition, the health office has been expanded, totally updated and renovated.
What was once the "old" library has been transformed into three learning spaces. This is the main space when you enter from the hallway.
Clean, bright and flexible spaces are now located in what was the "old" library. All of the learning spaces are on the same level and there is nothing that is below ground level. New furniture was selected to be attractive and practical for student collaborations.
The health office in the middle school now includes updated facilities for students who need medical attention.
