We are excited that due to a federal waiver, the cost of all meals served in our cafeterias will be fully reimbursed by the Department of Agriculture, which means there is no cost to parents or students for breakfast or lunch. The reimbursements available are for one breakfast AND one lunch per student per day.

As always, parents are welcome to send their students in with a packed lunch.

At the moment PPS will not offer any a la carte items for sale (and this includes second meals). This will help the students to move quickly and ensure there are no lines.

If and when we start offering la carte items again they will be offered at full price. There is no government reimbursement or subsidy for a la carte items.

We will have fewer menu options in September for all meals served. This will help staff to adjust to new procedures for packing and serving of foods and to new safety protocols.

Once the new procedures are in place and working, we will be expanding our menu offerings.

Thank you to K. Lee Dixon of Nutri-Serve Food Management for her continued work to provide the best possible food options to PPS students.

For Elementary Parents: If you have any medical dietary questions or concerns (i.e. food allergies or intolerances, Celiac, diabetes, or other medical considerations) about your child eating breakfast or lunch provided by the school, please reach out to your school nurse prior to the first day of school. Nurses will be able to respond to you on September 1, 2, 7, or 8, as students will have the option to pick up breakfast and/or lunch on September 9, the first day of school (even if you pack a lunch from home).
