Princeton High School has been named the top traditional public high school in New Jersey by, and is ranked 20th out of all private and public schools in New Jersey.

To be considered for the list, schools had to receive either an A+ or A overall score from, a website that reviews and ranks schools nationwide. Niche bases its scores off of academic and student-life data from the US Department of Education, state test scores, and feedback from Niche users.

Sixty percent of the score comes from each school’s “Academics Grade,” while ten percent comes from the “Culture & Diversity Grade.” A variety of other categories make up the remaining 30 percent of each school’s score.

Princeton High School also ranks in the top 50 nationally for Best Public High Schools in America, top 10 in the Best Public High Schools in New Jersey, and is ranked as the best Public High School in Mercer County.

As a district, Princeton Public Schools ranks top 20 in the nation and is the top-ranked school district in New Jersey.
