Princeton Public Schools teachers representing all six schools recently participated in an author visit with Cornelius Minor at the Princeton Barnes & Noble. Mr. Minor is the author of We Got This: Equity, Access, and the Quest to Be Who Our Students Need Us to Be. Mr. Minor has worked with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project for almost two decades.
Keisha Smith-Carrington, PPS Supervisor of Language Arts for Pre-K to 8th Grade, noted that Mr. Minor's message "is completely aligned to our PPS goals of Every Child Known and Closing the Achievement Gap." The PPS teachers plan to use Mr. Minor's insights for improved equity in age-appropriate ways at their schools. At Community Park, faculty members who are part of the Equity Committee will be reading his book in their book club this year.
