During the month of October, Garden State on Your Plate brought carrots to our school cafeterias and invited students to try both raw carrots and a cup of carrot soup.
Garden State on Your Plate is a farm-to-school food literacy program which was brought to PPS in 2010 through a partnership with Princeton Schools Garden Cooperative.
The program uses NJ-grown seasonal produce items – nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, berries, legumes, beans – for each month of the school year, offering curricular, cultural, and newsworthy connections to faculty, administrators, and parents.
