Congratulations to the 10 students of the PHS Mock Trial team for their hard work in the Mercer County Competition on Tuesday, February 3rd 2020.
The Mock Trial model spans across the state and is based on a “case” developed by practicing attorneys. Together, the PHS team analyzed the case and then divided into two sub-teams: one for the prosecution and one for the defense.
The students prepared for months, staying after school to work and consult with professional attorneys. This year, PHS was lucky enough to have Brian Quigley and Ralph Gerstein volunteer their time assisting the students with their understanding of each argument of the case.
PHS students defeated 10 teams to win the Mercer County Title. This is the farthest the PHS Mock Trial team has advanced in 20 years. The students will be honored by the New Jersey Bar Foundation in May at an awards ceremony.
Congratulations, again, to these outstanding young students for their dedication to the PHS Mock Trial team!
