April has been a good month for Community Park's efforts to be kind to Planet Earth. After spring break, plastic utensils in the cafeteria were swapped for actual silverware that can be washed and re-used. And straws are now only available as a special request. A huge thank you to the CP PTO for all their help with transitioning to the new system.
Now in its fourth year, the CP STEM Expo is designed to provide students Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math experiences that will take their everyday learning to the next level.
Community Park Spring Science Update from Ms. Mulrooney
Since 2016 Community Park's DLI program has been doing conferences in two languages (lead by students in Spanish) and it has proved to be a huge success with parents who are often astounded at the progress their children have made during the year
Principal Dineen Gruchacz had the privilege of attending the 7th International Dual Language Immersion Conference in Charlotte with the two newest Spanish Partner Teachers at Community Park, Señora Abril Retana (Kindergarten) and Señora Yaimee Herrera-Stacy (fourth grade).
In February, Community Park staff and students welcomed Marissa Warren to the library where she will serve as librarian while Mrs. Jones is on maternity leave.
A big thank-you to all the parents and teachers who made the recent fourth grade trip to Howell Farm a huge success.
Community Park Kindergarten students completed a 100th day service project recently for Arm in Arm.
