Referendum Town Hall June 18
Posted on 06/13/2018

Dear families, staff, and community members,

Next Monday, June 18, at 7:00 PM, I will be hosting a town hall to share some updates and details about the facilities referendum this fall.

The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the following:

  • The Need:  All of our schools are at or over capacity, and our district-wide enrollment is projected to rise by 700-800 students over the next ten years.

  • The Plan: We are looking to increase capacity at the high school by renovating internal spaces, including turning the three courtyards into spaces for learning; we are proposing a new 5/6 school to free up space at our elementary and middle schools; we are upgrading security and HVAC at all of our buildings; we are enhancing our athletic facilities; and we are securing additional property to provide for current needs and possible future growth.

  • The Investment:  These projects represent a long-term investment in our public school facilities, our community, our property values and, most importantly, our children. The tax impact of this investment will be spread over 30 years and will be partially offset by grants from the State.

The details for the Town Hall are provided below.  I hope you will join me to learn more about the referendum for our schools and the importance of the vote in our community on October 2.
